SOA Governance moves beyond the Enterprise

SOA Governance moves beyond the Enterprise

A number of moves recently by vendors are signalling that SOA Governance focus will be beyond the Enterprise.  IONA recently announced the capability to manage SOA Governance in their Distributed SOA solution, and this week SAP announced that SOA was established in the enterprise and focus will move to collaboration with partners.  Also SAP announced (again) their partnership with Cisco to provide a Governance, Compliance and Risk (GRC) which will based on SOA Appliances.

The challenges of managing SOA within the Enterprise will be compounded when you bring in external parties and where policy must be managed jointly in a Policy Collaboration effort.

My future blogs will be focusing on these challenges and how you can go about managing policy in Collaborative SOA environments.

Here is a white paper that I have started working on:

Understanding Policy Lifecycle Management in Distributed SOA Network Environments
